          The final report of the third National Family Health Survey (NFHS-3) conducted in 2005-06 in the country’s 29 states contains good news and bad as compared to the NFHS-2 of 1998-99. While women are having fewer children and infant mortality has declined over the seven-year period, anaemia and malnutrition are still widespread among children and adults.
